************************* Hwy 17 open to one lane after fatal collision
SPRAGGE, ON - At around 9 a.m. on January 18, 2011, officers from the East Algoma OPP detachment responded to a collision on Highway 17, Spragge.
The highway was closed in both directions for just over an hour before it was opened to one lane.
The collision involves a tractor-trailer and pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the transport were uninjured.
The road was snow-covered and slushy a time of the collision with good visibility.
The identification of the deceased is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
The collision is still under investigation and further details to follow as they become available.
