Yesterday, sharp-as-a-whip patrol officers recognized 28-year-old Scott Erdman from 308 Huron Street walking downtown, carrying an assortment of brand-new items of clothing with price tags fluttering from them.
Police stopped to chat with him and determined that the items had been taken from Zellers.
Erdman was charged with possession of stolen property for the Zellers items, and with a second charge of possessing a jacket stolen from Sears on November 26.
He's due in bail court on Monday.
