SAULT STE. MARIE - (September 10, 2008) – Sault native and co-owner of The Eco Laundry Room Paul Bichler will be seeking the candidacy for the Liberal Party in Sault Ste. Marie, said Corey Gardi, president of the Sault Ste. Marie Federal Liberal Association.

“We are excited that Paul has chosen to run in this election,” said Mr. Gardi. “His wealth of business experience and determination to bring more young people back home to Sault Ste. Marie, make him the ideal person to be our next member of parliament.”

A graduate of Lake Superior State University (B.Sc. – finance and economics) and Sir James Dunn C&VS, Mr. Bichler also attended St. Mary’s College.

From 1992 to 2001 he was general manager at Steel City Truck Lines.

Mr. Bichler is CEO of The Eco Laundry Room, a rapidly expanding chain of eco-friendly solar powered laundry rooms that has plans to expand into Sault Ste. Marie.

“I am thrilled to have the chance to work for the community that gave me so much when I was growing up,” said Mr. Bichler. “I believe passionately in the people of Sault Ste. Marie, and the potential of this great city. My number one priority is to work with Mayor Roswell [sic], David Orazetti [sic], and the business community to bring high quality professional jobs to Sault Ste. Marie.”

Mr. Bichler has a proven track record of building businesses, creating jobs and taking advantage of new technologies.

He also has international experience, having worked for four years in South Korea as a communication specialist at Hyundai.

No Sault Ste. Marie MP has ever had as much domestic and international business experience as Mr. Bichler has.

“If the Sault wants to have an MP who can work with the business community at home, across the country, and around the world to bring in new jobs, then we need an MP who has experience working in the boardrooms of the 21st century,” said Mr. Bichler. “I have the experience to go into any boardroom around the world and fight for my community. And if you elect me, that is exactly what I will do.”
