****************** Sault Ste. Marie Police Service investigates fatal collision between train and pedestrian
Just before 6 a.m. this morning the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services attended in the City's East End for a fatal collision involving a Huron Central Railway train and a pedestrian.
The train had been travelling eastbound on the tracks when the incident occurred.
The scene of the accident is on the tracks that run parallel to 1200 block of Trunk Road.
Officers from Traffic Services and Investigation Services have been called out and have taken over the investigation from Patrol Services.
The identity of the deceased person is not being released pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.
Traffic has not been affected in the area.
No further details are being released at this time pending the investigation.
