************************* Sixty-four-year old Margaret Berlinguette of 139 Carufel Avenue was charged for failing to yield to a pedestrian under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario in relation to an accident at the intersection of Queen Street East and Brock Street.

It is alleged that the accused was driving westbound on Queen Street East and effected a left-hand turn onto Brock Street where she struck a pedestrian that was walking west across the street.

The pedestrian sustained minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

************************* Property crimes

- A shed on Rushmere Drive was broken into sometime between the evening of the 8th of September and 7:30 a.m. on the 9th of September. Nothing was taken, however the shed sustained approximately $200 in damages.

- A vehicle in the 300 block of Albert Street East had two of its tires slashed.

- A front license plate was stolen from a vehicle that was parked at a residence in the 400 block of Wellington Street East.

- Sunglasses were stolen from a vehicle in the 200 block of North Street.

- Loose change was stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Pim Street.

Citizens should remember to keep their vehicles locked at all times and always remove anything of value.

If anything of value must be stored in the vehicle, then it should be hidden from plain view or secured in the trunk.

Vigilance by locking vehicles and removing items of temptation will greatly reduce incidents of theft.
