************************* Forty-six-year-old Paula-Ann Derasp of #305-844 Queen Street East was arrested on the 7th of April at 4:58 p.m. at Zellers at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of fail to appear court and one count of breach of a release order.

It is alleged that the accused attended at the store at approximately 4:40 p.m. and stole some jewelery and a pair of glasses.

When police attended, they discovered that the accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear court and also that she was on an undertaking not to attend at the Station Mall.

She is to appear in bail court this morning.

************************* Forty-five-year-old Annette Buczel of no fixed address was arrested on the 7th of April at 12:15 p.m. at Zellers in the Station Mall and charged with one count of mischief.

It is alleged that on the 7th of April she attended at the store and [allegedly] stole a pair of sandals.

When officers attended they discovered that there was an outstanding warrant for the accused for a mischief incident from March.

She is to attend in court on the 10th of May.

************************* Break and enter reports

- A residence on St. Basil’s Drive was broken into. Electronic equipment and liquor was reported stolen.

- A residence on First Avenue was entered. A number of items were reported stolen.

- An attempted break and enter was reported to a garage and trailer on Boundary Road.

************************ Mischief and thefts from vehicles

Vehicles in the downtown area and the East End were broken into overnight.

Three purses and a laptop were reported stolen.

Once again, citizens should remember to keep their vehicles locked at all times and always remove anything of value.

If anything of value must be stored in the vehicle, then it should be hidden from plain view or secured in the trunk.

Vigilance by locking vehicles and removing items of temptation will greatly reduce incidents of theft.
