************************* Report of a suspicious driver results in an impaired charge

The OPP are continually asking the public to report any suspicious activity when they see it.

An Aweres Township resident called the police on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. to report a vehicle that seem to be acting suspiciously.

The vehicle was located at the north end of Sault Ste. Marie and stopped by an OPP officer.

While the feared activity that was reported was not substantiated, the driver of the vehicle was found to have been drinking and also to be a disqualified driver.

Charged with driving over the legal limit, driving while disqualified, driving with no insurance and operating vehicle with an altered license plate is Paul Stanley Smith, age 50, of Third Line, Sault Ste. Marie.
