************************* Over the legal limit

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29-year-old Paul Pomagiel of 354 Margaret Avenue on the 19th of June at 2:33 a.m. on Carmen’s Way and charged him with one count of consuming over the legal limit.

It is alleged that on the 19th of June police were conducting the RIDE program on Carmen's Way when they stopped and checked the accused and discovered he was under the influence of alcohol.

The accused was given the roadside screening device and registered a fail.

The accused is to appear in court on the 25th of July.

************************* Theft, breach of release documents

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 18-year-old Xavier Polson of 163 Wellington Street East on the 17th of June at 11:49 p.m. on Dacey Road and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000 and four counts of breach of a release document.

It is alleged that on the 17th of June at approximately 11:30 p.m., the accused attended at the Mac’s Mart on Dacey Road and left the store with a number of items that he did not pay for.

The accused was apprehended by store staff just outside the store and police were called.

At the time of the incident the accused was in an intoxicated state and was on recognizance conditions not to consume any alcohol.

Officers also discovered that the accused was on curfew conditions, was not to attend at the store and was not residing at the address he was ordered to reside at.

************************* Outstanding warrant

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21-year-old James Bolan of 84 McNabb Street on the 17th of June at 7:24 a.m. on Huron Street on an outstanding warrant.

It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on the 16th of May in relation to a shoplifting incident.

The accused has been charged with one count of fail to appear court.

************************* Domestic-related arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old male on the 17th of June at 2:15 p.m. and charged him with one count of assault, one count of threatening death or bodily harm and four counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 17th of June the accused assaulted his girlfriend and threatened her.

At the time of the incident the accused was on a probation order with conditions not to communicate with the victim, not to attend at her residence, not to molest, harass or physically interfere with her and was to keep the peace and be good.

************************* Domestic-related arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 34-year-old male on the 18th of June at 5:20 a.m. and charged him with one count of assault and four counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 18th of June the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend at his residence and at the time he was on probation conditions that he not communicate with the victim, not harass, molest or physically interfere with her and he was to keep the peace and be good.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old male on the 18th of June at 12:10 p.m. and charged him with on count of assault, two counts of forcible confinement, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of mischief.

It is alleged that on the 17th of June the accused was at the residence of his girlfriend, got into a verbal argument with her, broke her cane and then assaulted her with it.

The accused attempted to leave on two occasions during the dispute but the accused would not let her.

The victim received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the assault.

************************* Domestic-related arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 19-year-old male on the 18th of June at 2:52 p.m. and charged him with one count of mischief and two counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on the 18th of June the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend and damaged her mother’s vehicle.

At the time of the incident the accused was on conditions to be in his residence and was to keep the peace and be good.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 25-year-old male on the 19th of June at 6:20 p.m. on an outstanding domestic-related warrant and charged him with one count of assault and one count of mischief.

************************* Failing to remain at accident

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 24-year-old Kristopher Decker of 154 Kerr Drive on the 17th of June at 5:56 p.m. and charged him with one count of failing to remain at an accident.

It is alleged that on the 10th of June at approximately 3:30 a.m. the accused reversed his vehicle from a driveway on Point Des Chenes Crescent and struck a parked vehicle.

The collision was observed by witness and after a police investigation the charges were laid.

The accused is to appear in court on the 18th of July.

************************ Shoplifting arrest

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 59-year-old Joseph Cognigni of 282 Sixth Avenue on the 17th of June at 8:10 p.m. and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that on the 17th of June the accused attended at Rome’s Independent Grocers and stole some items.

He was apprehended by store security and held for police.

The accused is to appear in court on the 25th of July.

************************ Robbery Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 35-year-old Rae-Ann Perrault of 104 West Street on the 19th of June at 12:54 a.m. and charged her with one count of robbery.

It is alleged that on the 18th of June the accused attended at the residence of a male known to her, assaulted him and stole some of his medications.

The accused is to appear in court on the 25th of June.
