************************* Local woman dies in fatal motor vehicle crash

A head-on collision that occurred on Highway 17 at Garden River First Nation has taken the life of a local resident.

Patricia Rose Baker, age 71 of Desbarts Ontario died at the scene of the crash.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted in Sault Ste. Marie Friday morning.

The police are trying to determine why Mrs. Baker's vehicle crossed over into the path of the oncoming tractor trailer.
