OPP re-activates search for Stacy Dilenardi

********************** OPP search for Stacy Dilenardi continues

Duncan Township, Ont. - OPP in Sault Ste Marie have re-activated the search for thirty one year old Stacy Dilenardi who went missing last winter.

On November 29 2005 Mr. Dilenardi was reported missing to the Sault Ste Marie City Police.

On November 30 2005 Mr. Dilenardi's car was found abandoned off of Connor Road in Duncan Township just outside the northeast corner of the Sault Ste. Marie city limits.

An extensive search was conducted last November until heavy snowfall prevented any further search efforts.

Earlier this month, when the snow was still in the area, an OPP helicopter flew over the search area looking for any indicators of his whereabouts.

OPP officers with the Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team then searched isolated areas selected by the helicopter but did not find any signs of Mr. Dilenardi.

Today, four OPP canine unit officers will search the area with cadaver dogs.

The OPP Emergency Response Team, assisted by Sault Search and Rescue, will then conduct a ground search of the area if the canine teams are unsuccessful.
