Members of the Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have located Dustin Twain.

ESPANOLA - Members of the Espanola Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are currently investigating an incident which has sent six people to hospital with methyl hydrate poisoning.

Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 38-year-old Dustin Twain of McKerrow.

Information has been received that he may also have consumed methyl hydrate.

Police are concerned for his wellbeing and are requesting the public’s assistance in locating Dustin Twain.

On May 27 at approximately 11:37 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence located in the town of McKerrow to assist the ambulance with an unconscious male.

The male was transported to Espanola General Hospital and later air lifted to Sudbury Regional Hospital.

The investigation revealed that five males and one female had inadvertently consumed methyl hydrate.

Methyl hydrate is more commonly known as gas line anti-freeze.

Police were able to locate three of the males suspected of ingesting methyl hydrate and ensured that immediate medical attention was received; the remaining three persons were already at hospital.

One male is listed in critical condition, two are listed in serious but stable condition, three are being treated in hospital.

The persons involved in this incident range in age from 15 to 38 years.

The investigation is continuing.
