OPP investigate death at Elk Lake

************************* Police investigate death

JAMES TOWNSHIP, ELK LAKE, ON – Ontario Provincial Police are currently at the scene of a death investigation in James Township, near Elk Lake.

On March 17, OPP and EMS were dispatched to the occurrence where a male party was located deceased.

As a result of the information learned at the scene, the OPP have initiated an investigation into the death of a 32-year-old man from the Thunder Bay area.

The identity of the deceased is not being released at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled today in Sudbury, Ontario.

OPP criminal investigation branch is leading the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Paul McCrickard.

Other units assisting with the investigation include; OPP crime unit members from North East and North West Regions and members of the forensic identification unit, North Bay.
