On the 10th of July 2012, Peter Miller (age 33) of 732 Queen St East, was in the Station Mall.
He attended one of the businesses where it is alleged he stole 18 rings.
Security was notified and attempted to arrest him. Mr. Miller elbowed the security officer in the face and he had to be subdued while police were called.
He will be spending the night at the Sault Ste Marie Police Service cell block and attending bail court in the morning.
He is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property, assault and resisting arrest.
