One man is dead and another is in hospital with serious head injuries after the stage collapsed at Toronto's Downsview Park prior to Saturday night's Radiohead concert.

Toronto police and investigators from the Ministry of Labour are on scene today attempting to determine the cause of the collapse.

Radiohead cancelled the concert and posted a note to fans on the band's Facebook page shortly after 5 p.m. advising them not to attend the venue.

There was no indication that the show would be rescheduled, but the band is expected to release a statement later today.

2008 Polaris Music Prize winners, Caribou, were scheduled to open the concert and issued the following statement about the incident:

"We are profoundly saddened by what happened at Downsview Park today. All our sympathy is with the band and crew and the families of those affected."
