************************* Mischief to Chapleau walking bridge

CHAPLEAU, ON - On May 15, members of the Superior East Detachment in Chapleau investigated a report of graffiti on a portion of the Chapleau walking bridge.

The bridge is a high-traffic pedestrian walkway put in place to safely cross over the CP railyard in Chapleau.

Investigation reveals that damage likely occurred between the evening of Wednesday, May 14, into the early hours of Thursday May 15.

The mischief to the property was deliberate and pointless.

The nature of the graffiti was highly offensive and graphic in nature.

Repairs have been completed.

Nonetheless, these types of crimes against our communities public property are offensive and costly to us all.

Crimes of this nature will not be tolerated by the OPP or the community.

The investigation is continuing.
