Notre-Dame-des-Grands-Lacs students shine at Bon Soo 2012 winter carnival
Students from École secondaire Notre-Dame-des-Grands-Lacs in Sault Ste. Marie were avid participants in the recently held Bon Soo 2012 winter carnival.
A team of students from Notre-Dame-des-Grands-Lacs competed in the TD Canada Trust Bon Soo High School Outdoor Challenge and claimed top spot among all Sault Ste. Marie and area secondary schools.
The activities were held from February 4 to 10.
Notre-Dame-des-Grands-Lacs won the high school snow sculpture contest, the Challenge Game Night (Minute to Win It games) as well as the treasure hunt.
Last year, the students had also dominated the friendly high school competition by winning two of the three events.
“We take great pride in having our students participate in community events and especially contributing to the success of the Bon Soo winter carnival,” stated Mrs. Gisèle Lamy, École secondaire Notre-Dame-des-Grands-Lacs principal. “Our students were thrilled to be able to contribute their skills and energy to this year’s Bon Soo event celebrating Sault Ste. Marie’s 100th anniversary."
