Michigan's 9&10 News is reporting that Shane Calvey was sentenced to 30 years in prison yesterday in both Chippewa and Mackinac counties.

Calvey was arrested earlier this year after strangling his fiance in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and forcing her into his vehicle.

He later dragged her into the woods and choked her to the point of unconsciousness.

The woman managed to escape her attacker and find help.
