Nolan Gibbs accused of home invasion

************************* Yesterday evening at approximately 6 p.m., City Police were called to a centrally located residence regarding an assault.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to a male and female complaining about a man known to them having broken into their residence and assaulting them.

Officers searched the area and located the accused, Nolan Gibbs, age 46, of 47 Vera Street.

It is alleged that Mr. Gibbs forced his way into the victims’ home and while there assaulted and threatened both victims.

Nolan Gibbs is charged with one count of unlawfully in a dwelling, one count of forcible entry, two counts of assault and two counts of threatening.

************************* Mischief

Four vehicles were damaged in the following locations:

- 300 block of Farwell Terrace – car seat burned.

- 100 block of Shoreview Crt. – van window damaged.

- 200 block of St. Mary’s River Drive - two vehicles were damaged.

************************* Theft - A large quantity of tools was stolen from a truck parked in the 400 block of Queen Street East.

- Luggage was stolen from a vehicle parked at the Sleep Inn, located at 727 Bay Street.

- Cash and personal identifications were stolen from vehicles in the 1800 block of Queen Street East and the 100 block of Princess Crescent.

- Two bicycles were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Durban Road and one bike was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Allen Street.

The public is reminded that the Sault Ste Marie Police Service has a bicycle registration service that is free of charge and may assist in returning your bicycle if it is lost or stolen. Call the Community Service office at 949-6300 for more information.
