No changes to ArriveCAN process, says CBSA

In light of the Canadian Government's recent annoucement to remove pre-entry testing for fully vaccinated travellers on April 1, the CBSA is reminding people that there will still be measures in place, such as the mandatory use of ArriveCAN and the prohibition of travel to Canada for foreign nationals who do not qualify as fully vaccinated.

While the Government of Canada is removing the pre-entry test requirement for fully vaccinated travellers on April 1, the CBSA is reaching out to you in hopes that you can help us inform your audience that there will still be measures in place that affect all travellers entering Canada:

• There are no changes to the mandatory use of ArriveCAN. Everyone seeking entry to Canada, including fully vaccinated travellers, must continue to submit their information in ArriveCAN (free mobile app or website) within 72 hours before arriving in Canada. This includes submitting their digital proof of vaccination in English or French. This applies to all travellers entering Canada, regardless of the length of their trip.
• Travel to Canada is still prohibited for foreign nationals who do not qualify as fully vaccinated.
• Travellers who enter Canada by right who are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated must continue to follow pre-entry, on-arrival and Day-8 COVID-19 testing requirements, and quarantine for 14 days. There are three accepted types of test and specific conditions apply to each.
• All travellers entering Canada, regardless of their vaccination status, may be selected for mandatory random testing upon arrival. Travellers selected do not have to quarantine while awaiting their test result.  

Fully vaccinated travellers are reminded that if they arrive in Canada before April 1, 2022, they will still need to have a valid pre-entry test result.
