Dressed in traditional First Nations garb and sporting a black balloon, three-year-old Jaycee Edgar joined other First Nations peoples, Métis and Inuit from across the region today to celebrate National Aboriginal Day at Bellevue Park.

Dressed in traditional First Nations garb and sporting a black balloon, three-year-old Jaycee Edgar joined other First Nations peoples, Métis and Inuit from across the region today to celebrate National Aboriginal Day at Bellevue Park.

"He hasn't quite mastered the proper way of dancing, but he's learning and he loves to get out there and dance," said Jaycee's guardian, Michael Mandigo.

It is important to introduce children to their Aboriginal heritage from an early age, Mandigo said.

"We find that it helps us become more creative and focused as a family," he said.
