New walk-in clinic opens in Wellington Square Mall

A new walk-in clinic has opened at the IDA Drug Mart located in the Wellington Square Mall.

"This clinic has been opened to assist with wait times at the Sault Area Hospital, especially for non-urgent ailments," said owner Joe Greco in an email to SooToday.

Clinic hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. Appointments are not necessary.

The free telemedicine clinic utilizes participating Ontario Telemedicine Network physicians to assist and diagnose patients through videolink.

The Wellington Square IDA Drug Mart recently underwent renovations, reopening to the public earlier this month.

It's one of four IDA pharmacies in Sault Ste. Marie, with a new location planned at the intersection Queen Street East and Bruce Street. 

This new walk-in clinic marks the second in the city's east end for IDA – the first opened in May of this year.

Greco told SooToday at the time that medical clinics are in the works for all four IDA Drug Mart locations.
