************************* Remember - it's a new highway, not a raceway
GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATION - Sault Ste. Marie OPP would like to remind everyone that the new section of Highway 17 around Echo Bay and Garden River is scheduled to open this morning.
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie OPP detachment and the OPP Traffic and Marine Unit will also be using the new section of highway – with our radar units!
We would like to remind everyone of the new “stunt” legislation in Ontario that allows police to seize vehicles and drivers licences of anyone found driving fifty kilometers per hour or over the speed limit.
The speed limit on the new section is 90 km/h.
