HURON-SUPERIOR CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

************************* Principal for the day

SAULT STE. MARIE: A young student at Holy Family Catholic School had the opportunity to be the boss today.

Grade 1 student Michael Nicoletta [shown] won the school’s “Principal For The Day Contest.”

Michael got to go out on yard duty, make announcements, extend both recesses and announce at 2 p.m. that there was to be no more work that day.

Michael was also treated to a lunch at Joey Calzone’s where he got a tour of the kitchen and helped take a pizza out of the oven.

Michael told students that he had treats for anyone caught exhibiting good behaviour.

Plenty were handed out.

He also provided a movie and popcorn afternoon for his Grade 1 classmates.

“Principal” Nicoletta agreed to many staff requests for the day off and was kept busy making sure students kept the hallways clear of clutter.

Michael’s favourite part of the day was supervising a student who had recess detention.

Students’ Council sponsored the “Principal For The Day Contest” as a fundraiser to offset the costs of providing drinks and snacks for the student body during winter play day.
