New museum exhibit celebrates natural history

Pop-up exhibition will run until the end of May, featuring various Entomica specimen displays and related artifacts

The Sault Ste. Marie Museum, in partnership with Entomica, will host a pop-up exhibit starting May 18 to celebrate the importance of natural history.

The exhibition will run until the end of May, and will be open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will feature specimen displays from Entomica and related artifacts from Sault Museum collections.

There will also be a special guest from the Horticulture Society to help with a hands-on plant and seed activity from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

May is International Museum Month! The Sault Ste. Marie Museum would like to welcome everyone to come down and join us to celebrate International Museum Day! Admission is by donation.

The Sault Ste. Marie Museum and Entomica have partnered together to help celebrate the importance of natural history. A pop-up exhibit has been installed in our Durham Gallery and will feature various specimen displays from Entomica and related artifacts from our collections here at the museum.

We will also have a special guest from the Horticulture Society to assist with a hands-on plant and seed activity from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Sault Ste. Marie Museum and Entomica would like to thank the Horticulture Society for kindly sponsoring the materials for our interactive planting activity.

The featured pop exhibit will run until the end of May. Hours of operation are from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is free parking in the museum’s back parking lot and nearby in the Albert/Brock Street parking lot.
