Ninety-eight fires to date in the East Fire Region since April 1, 2008

There are two active fires in the region.

Hearst 5 is being held at 1.3 hectares and Cochrane 7 is being observed northwest of Moosonee. The forest fire hazard is low throughout the East Fire Region with some pockets of moderate hazard.

Always use caution with all outdoor fires and follow safe burning guidelines.

Remember to choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended.

Ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site.

If you live in a municipality, check local bylaws for any burning restrictions that may apply.
