************************* Vehicle stopped for speeding leads to drug charge

TILLEY TWP, ON - Yesterday, a Sault Ste. Marie OPP officer was conducting radar patrol on Highway 17 in Tilley Township.

At approximately 4 p.m. a single northbound 1998 Honda Accord automobile was locked on radar at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be in possession of approximately 11 grams of what appeared to be marijuana.

The driver also did not have a driver’s licence.

Arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of driving while disqualified under the Criminal Code is 26-year-old Robert Plasse, of Quebec.

Plasse was released on a promise to appear for court on Monday, May 26.
