OPP NEWS RELEASE

************************* Drivers identified - collision investigation continues

Police are still investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred yesterday on Highway 17 in Algoma Mills.

A red Pontiac Grand Am being operated by 41-year-old Sean Bishop of Blind River was westbound when he crossed the center line and collided with an International cargo truck being operated by 48-year-old Henri Labelle of Chelmsford.

Bishop, who was airlifted to Sudbury Hospital, remains in serious condition.

Labelle was treated at the Blind River Hospital and released with minor injuries.

Both vehicles were totalled in the collision.

Weather, road and alcohol were not a factor in this collision.

A detour had been set up for small vehicles and Highway 17 was open to all traffic at 8 p.m.
