Motorhome consumed by fire

The fire created a large cloud of black smoke, visible from a distance

A loyal SooToday reader sent us these photos of a customized motorhome as it was destroyed by fire late this afternoon.

The photos were taken as Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services crews battled the fire in the parking lot of the Beer Store on Great Northern Road.

Witnesses say the fire started about 5:15 p.m.
