The death toll in today's nearly simultaneous suicide bombings is the highest in a concerted attack since November 23, when 215 people were killed in Sadr City, report Iraqi military and local officials in northwest Iraq.

Four suicide bombers hit Kurdish Yazidi communities today, killing at least 175 people, wounding 200 others and destroying 30 homes with nearly simultaneous attacks.

The attacks were carried out in the districts near Qahataniya, 75 miles west of Mosul, Iraq's third-largest city, say Iraqi officials in the area.
