************************* Mischief

Signs were damaged on Canal Drive.

Break and enter

Break and enters were reported to residences in:

- The 100 block of Robin Street.

- The 500 block of Bush Street.

- The 300 block of John Street.

It is not known what was taken at this time.

************************* Theft

Vehicles parked in the following locations were entered:

- The 100 block of Robin Street. Cash was taken.

- The 100 block of Royal York Boulevard. Personal papers were taken.

- The 100 block of White Oak Drive. Two vehicles in this block were entered – cash, electronics and sporting equipment were stolen.

- Two vehicles were entered in the 100 block of Old Highway 17 North. Miscellaneous items were taken.

- The 100 block of Oregon Street. Cash and electronics were taken.

- The 100 block of LaSalle Court. CDs and electronics were taken.

- The 100 block of Muriel Drive. Personal items were taken.

Bicycles were reported stolen from the 100 block of Adrian Drive and the 100 block of Albert Street East.

************************** Criminal harassment

Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 50-year-old male for criminal harassment.

It is alleged that between August 12 and 17, the accused criminally harassed a former girlfriend by constantly following her, calling her at home and on her cell phone.

The accused is charged with one count of criminal harassment.

************************** Stolen television

Yesterday evening, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 40-year-old male on warrants for theft under and two charges of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on August 7, the accused attended at the Wal-Mart Store on Great Northern Road and stole a television.

It is further alleged that at the time of this offence, the accused was on probation.

Alain Chartrand, age 40, of 352 Cathcart Street, upstairs apartment, is charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation.

Mr. Chartrand will be appearing in court on September 20 at 9 a.m.

************************** Breach of probation

Yesterday afternoon, members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested an 18-year-old female on warrants for possession of stolen property and two charges of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on August 8, the accused was in possession of a stolen laptop computer.

It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and to notify the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service of any change of address.

Tina Tremblay, age 18 of 814 Wellington Street East, Apartment 3, is charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of breach of probation.

Ms. Tremblay will be appearing in court on September 20 at 9 a.m.

************************** Assault causing bodily harm

Yesterday morning, members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 37-year-old male for assault causing bodily harm.

It is alleged that in July 2010, the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend by throwing her to the ground.

This caused the victim to suffer a dislocated elbow.

It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on a probation order release with conditions to keep the peace.

The accused is charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm and one count of breach of probation.

The victim had to be treated at the hospital for her injuries.
