The following snow squall warning has been issued by Environment Canada for Agawa - Lake Superior Park - White River - Dubreuilville - Wawa - Pukaskwa Park.

************************* Snow squalls with whiteouts from heavy snow tonight and Saturday.

Heavy flurries and local snow squalls have been affecting areas to the northeast of Lake Superior from Montreal River north towards Wawa this afternoon.

The squalls are expected to get better organized this evening and drift north, primarily affecting locales from Wawa to Pukaskwa.

They are expected to continue in this area throughout much of Saturday before meandering southwards again Saturday night.

Further snowfall accumulations of 15 centimetres are expected in any off lake heavier snow squalls tonight and then again on Saturday.

In addition, low visibilities in bursts of heavy snow are expected.

Motorists should be prepared for dangerous winter driving conditions and allow extra time to reach their destination. Whiteout conditions in heavy snow can often develop suddenly even when conditions just prior to the snowsquall included good visibility with little or no snow.
