Goulais River, Ont. - Sault Ste. Marie OPP are reminding motorists of an increase in moose collisions and sightings on Highway 17 at the bottom of the Mile Hill in Goulais River.

In the past wee,k three moose have been struck on Highway 17 in the area of the Mile Hill through to Pineshores Road in Goulais River.

Two more moose have been seen on the highway and in the ditches in that same area over the past several days.

Over the Easter Weekend one moose was hit on Highway 17 just south of Havilland Shores Drive in Goulais River.

Remember to always be scanning the tree line and ditches for moose and other wildlife.

At night, slow down and use your high beams when allowed by law.
