ELLIOT LAKE, ON - The East Algoma OPP in Elliot Lake, during the last couple of weeks, have received several calls regarding possible counterfeit $5 bills.

Investigation revealed that the bills were genuine and printed prior to the final enhancements of the holographic stripe, ghost image/watermark and see-through number back in 2005.

Police also received information that the general public believes all $5 bills of the Canadian Journey Series without enhance security features, and with the serial number beginning with H, are counterfeit.
