Ontario Provincial Police advise SooToday.com that a closed section of Highway 17 from Heyden to Wawa re-opened at 5:40 a.m. Monday.
Just 16 hours after re-opening following a five-transport pileup, the highway was closed again last night, this time due to the winter weather.
The following statement was issued by the Ontario Provincial Police at 10:40 p.m.

Highway 17 North from Heyden to Wawa will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
Detachment area: Sault Ste. Marie and Wawa
Time of road closure: 10 p.m
Reason for the closure: Winter weather conditions
