Northern Michigan's 9&10 News is reporting that Russell Hersch is in federal court today requesting the removal of his electronic ankle monitor.

The 73-year-old resident of West Branch, Michigan was charged earlier this year with threatening to paint the Mackinac Bridge with Bart Stupak's blood after the former congressman voted in favour of a health care reform bill.

Hersch claims the monitoring device hinders his ability to attend church as well as care for his bees.
