Actor Meinhardt Raabe, best known as the Munchkin coroner in The Wizard of Oz, is dead.

Media reports this afternoon indicate that Raabe died in a hospital in Orange Park, Florida.

He was 94. He was one of just a small number of surviving The Wizard of Oz Munchkins.

It was Raabe who uttered the line that the Wicked Witch of the West was "not only merely dead, she's really most sincerely dead."
