Meet the new principal for Écho-des-Rapides

SUDBURY – The Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of new principals for 2018-2019 in several of its schools.

Ms. Émilie Poliquin will become the principal of É.P. Écho-des-Rapides in Sault Ste. Marie. Since she joined the CSPGNO in 2014, Ms. Poliquin has been an elementary level teacher as well as interim principal at Écho-des-Rapides, which is her current position.
 
Ms. Natalie Matko-Goupil, currently principal of É.P. Camille-Perron in Markstay, has been appointed as principal of É.P. Franco-Nord in Azilda. Ms. Matko-Goupil has been active in the field of education since 1993 and has a wealth of experience in the Francophone educational environment. At various stages in her career, Ms. Matko-Goupil has worked as a teacher, vice-principal and principal. She was founding principal of É.P. l’Escalade in Wawa. 
 
Ms. Vivian Cotnam will take charge of É.P. Camille-Perron in Markstay. Ms. Cotnam has been active in the field of education for over 25 years and has solid teaching and school management skills. Ms. Cotnam has served as a teacher, an educational consultant and a vice-principal and is currently the principal of É.P. Franco-Nord in Azilda, having served in that capacity for 6 years. 
 
Ms. Lynn Tellier will assume the position of principal at É.P. Jeanne-Sauvé in Sudbury. Since her arrival in the CSPGNO, Ms. Tellier has served in many capacities, including elementary school teacher, literacy and numeracy coach, literacy and ALF consultant, elementary educational consultant, and has served as interim principal at E.P. Jeanne-Sauvé since January 2018. 
 
Ms. Stéphanie Sampson, currently principal of É.P. l’Escalade in Wawa, will become the principal of É.P. Foyer-Jeunesse in Hanmer. Ms. Sampson has extensive experience in the field of Francophone education. Since her arrival at CSPGNO, she has served as a teacher, a interim principal and a principal. 
 
Ms. Marie-Ève Couture will serve as principal of É.P. l’Escalade in Wawa. Ms. Couture has been working in education since 2011 and has been with the CSPGNO since 2016 as a teacher at É.P. l’Escalade.
 
Mr. Éric Robert will serve as the new principal of É.P. Franco-Manitou in Manitouwadge. Mr. Robert is arriving from Timmins, where he has been an elementary school teacher and a contract teacher at Collège Boréal. 
 
All of these principals have extensive knowledge of the Francophone educational environment and the needs of our various communities. Knowing their energy, their leadership abilities and their level of expertise, the CSPGNO is certain that these newly appointed principals will play a key role in ensuring quality education to foster the full development of CSPGNO students. The board wishes them the best success in their new duties. 
 
Recognized for its keen sense of innovation and openness to the world, CSPGNO offers a French-language public education of the highest quality in eleven elementary schools and eight secondary schools in the communities of Markstay, Noëlville, Greater Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie, Wawa, Dubreuilville, Marathon, Manitouwadge and Longlac.
