BUSHPLANE HERITAGE CENTRE

The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre welcomes a new curator. Brian Bubinas starts in his new role on Jan. 28, 2019.

Bubinas was born and raised in Sault Ste Marie and is passionate about arts and culture.

He returned to our “Naturally Gifted” Sault Ste. Marie after a lengthy period living in Toronto, having moved there to pursue an education at the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1996. After earning his Associates Degree with a major in Sculpture/Installation in 2000, he furthered his career and experience-based education for over a decade in the big city.

He has worked in many different capacities with the public, teaching, training and volunteering his time for special events promoting culture in Toronto and Sault Ste. Marie.

Bubinas has worked at Code Red; visual tactics in Toronto as a production, design and visual artist, and at Liberty Entertainment Group in Toronto as a set designer and visual artist. He worked as a sculptor for Cuppa Coffee Animation in Toronto and ran his own business called Creative By Code in Sault Ste. Marie, coordinating home improvement projects. More recently, he has worked at Soo Mill doing project management, design and installation sales.
