MCTV's Bryan Bicknell is leaving the station next Wednesday, April 2.

Bicknell (shown) came to the Sault three years ago from Sarnia, where he had worked in radio.

He's going to Wingham, Ontario to work for The New NX (CKNX-TV), a close affiliate of CFPL-TV in nearby London.

Bicknell will be employed there as a photojournalist, with essentially the same duties he performed here in the Sault.

"Once I arrived in the Soo it didn't take very long for people to make me feel at home, so I shall miss the city a great deal," Bicknell said in his letter of resignation.

"I will also miss the people I worked with at MCTV, especially those in the newsroom, who I was closest to. But I am looking forward to the new challenges."

Mark Oldfield, executive producer of MCTV News, told SooToday.com today that he regrets losing Bicknell, who he particularly valued for the thoroughness of his work and his desire to improve.
