Mayor Amaroso encourages community input for age-friendly designation

SAULT STE. MARIE - Mayor Debbie Amaroso is asking for community input through the completion of a series of surveys required for the Age-Friendly City designation.

These surveys list the specific criteria for an Age-Friendly City as defined by the World Health Organization.

The first survey, which focuses on housing, can be completed online.

Community residents can also access hard copies of the survey at several locations including:

  • The Civic Centre - Reception Desk
  • All three branches of the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library
  • Seniors Drop-in Centre and Steelton Seniors Centre
  • George Leach Centre
  • John Rhodes Community Centre
  • The Royal Canadian Legion
  • The Moose Lodge

Contact Stephanie Pagnucco, community engagement coordinator, at 705-541-7032 or email [email protected] should you have questions or require additional information about the housing survey.

The World Health Organization Age-Friendly City designation is an initiative identified in Mayor Amaroso’s “Your City, Your Say” campaign platform.

She believes it will benefit the quality of life for all members of the community.
