HEYDEN, ON. - Members of the OPP Traffic and Marine Unit stationed at the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment found another person drinking and driving last night.
At about 10 p.m. last night officers stopped a pickup truck on Highway 17 near Trout Lake Road in Heyden.
The driver showed signs that he had been drinking.
The driver was given a roadside test and he failed that test.
He was returned to the police station where further testing confirmed the fact that he was over the legal limit of alcohol to be driving.
When the man was arrested officers found a small amount of marijuana in his pocket.
Thirty-year-old Martin William Miron of Hare Avenue in Sault Ste. Marie has been charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while over the legal limit contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
He has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.
In compliance with the Automatic Driver's Licence Suspension in Ontario, Mr. Miron's licence has been automatically suspended for the next 90 days.
He will appear in court on Monday 14 May 2007 to answer to his charges.
