Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29-year-old Mark Belisle of no fixed address on the 22nd of November at 7:45 p.m. at The Metro store on Churchill Boulevard and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of assault and one count of breach of a release document.

It is alleged that the accused attended at the store yesterday and stole a quantity of meat and cheese.

When security attempted to apprehend him just outside the store, the accused resisted and continuously fought with the officer.

Police attended and took the male into custody.

At the time of the offence, the accused was under the influence of alcohol and was on an undertaking with conditions not to consume any.

The security officer was not injured during the incident.

The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

************************* Karen Desjardins, Dana King

Two females were arrested yesterday at 10:40 a.m. at Zellers on Northern Avenue after they allegedly attended at the store and stole a quantity of cosmetics.

They were apprehended by store security and held for police.

As a result, 24-year-old Dana King of #5-593 Wallace Terrace and 42-year-old Karen Desjardins of #4-593 Wallace Terrace were charged with one count each of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of stolen property.

They are to appear in court on the 10th of January.

Twenty-two-year-old Valerie Pelky of 113 Rob Street in Blind River was arrested on the 22nd of November at 1:20 p.m. at Zellers in the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.

It is alleged that she attended at the store yesterday afternoon and stole a quantity of cosmetics.

She was apprehended by stored security and held for police.

She is to appear in court on the 10th of January 2011.
