The following snow squall warning has been issued tonight by Environment Canada for Agawa - Lake Superior Park - Wawa - Pukaskwa Park - White River - Dubreuilville.

Snow squall watches (less urgent than a warning) have been issued for Searchmont - Montreal River Harbour - Batchawana Bay.

************************* Snow squalls tonight with 15 cm of snow per 12 hours.

Cold southwest winds in the wake of the Colorado low are generating flurries and local snow squalls to the northeast of Lake Superior.

Winds will shift to more westerly overnight and shift the squalls to the east of the lake.

Local snow amounts of 15 centimetres are likely per 12 hours.

Lesser amounts are expected for Marathon - Schreiber as the squalls will move out later this evening.

However local visibilities may be suddenly reduced to near zero making travel hazardous.

Hazardous winter driving conditions are expected due to low visibilities from snow and local blowing snow from snow squalls.

Untreated surfaces may quickly become icy and dangerous.

Travellers should adjust their plans accordingly.

Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation and will adjust watches and warnings as required.
