SAULT STE. MARIE POLICE SERVICE

************************* On Saturday, July 28, 2007, at approximately 09:15 hours the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was notified that an inmate of the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead.

Police detectives are investigating the sudden death of Christopher Kelly Robertson, age 24, of Wellington Street East, Sault Ste. Marie.

Christopher Robertson was in custody with regard to three armed robberies that occurred at the Gore Street Mac's Mart on July 26, 2007.

Foul play is not suspected and the cause of death is not being released at this time.

Police investigators are continuing their investigation in conjunction with the local coroner’s office.
