After 23 years of serving Saultites on Great Northern Road, the Lucky 7 Food Mart has closed its doors.
Its last day was Friday and store owners Bob and Gwen Mah said goodbye to their loyal customers with free giveaways and tasty treats.
Last spring, Bob Mah told the Sault Star that he felt a lot of pressure from the big box and franchise stores springing up around him.
At that time, Mah said he had no intention of selling, but would if someone made him an offer.
That's also around the time that construction began on a new-format large Mac's Mart on the corner of Third Line and Great Northern Road.

The Mac's is up and the gas pumps are in, but the interior still needs to be finished and stocked before it opens.
Friday night, they taped the closed signs to the door of the Lucky 7.
