NEWS RELEASE

************************* A 49-year-old male was arrested on the 23rd of January at 3:15 p.m. on Albert Street West and charged with three counts of threaten death or bodily harm, three counts of breach of probation and one count of personation with intent.

It is alleged that one the 23rd of January at approximately 11:35 a.m. the accused contacted his ex-girlfriend by phone and threatened to kill her and a friend of hers and to burn her house down.

When police arrested him they discovered there was an outstanding warrant for the accused regarding threatening the same victim during the first week of November.

It is alleged that the victim was ending the relationship and the accused threatened to kill her and friends of hers if she left him.

He threatened to destroy her home and vehicle and other personal property.

At the time of the incidents the accused was on probation with conditions that he keep the peace and be of good behaviour and that he not communicate with the victim.

When officers located him on Albert Street West he falsely identified himself in attempts to evade being arrested on his outstanding warrant.
