Louis takes an illegal swim to Canada

CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE ************************* At approximately 11:45 p.m. police responded to a call for a male that had apparently swam across the St. Mary’s River from the U.S. with a backpack and some sort of flotation device.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. police responded to a call for a male that had apparently swam across the St. Mary’s River from the U.S. with a backpack and some sort of flotation device.

Police attended the former General Hospital site with officers from Canada Customs and apprehended a 31 year old American citizen identified as Louis FORTIER (no fixed address).

He was turned over to Canada Customs and Immigration.
