Hitting a new 28-year high, the Canadian dollar cracked the 90-cent U.S. barrier this morning. It opened today at 90.13 cents U.S. and at one point this morning was selling for 90.16.

The Stephen Harper Conservatives are poised to present their first federal budget at 4 p.m. today.
