The Sault Ste. Marie community is invited to join together to celebrate Canada’s 147th birthday.

A community event will be held at the Roberta Bondar Park Tent Pavilion on Tuesday, July 1 beginning at 1 p.m. with festivities throughout the day, ending with a fireworks display at dusk.

Enjoy entertainment for all ages including: the Royal Canadian Legion Band, Andrew Queen & the Campfire Crew, The Musical Comedy Guild, Frank Deresti & Jay Case, Genevieve Andre, Cultural Dancers, ending with headliner band James Case & the Aces.

The John Rowswell Hub Trail Festival takes place from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., ending at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion where prizes will be drawn at 3 p.m.

Canada Day activities include: carnival games, face painting and glitter tattoos, balloon animals, a painting mural, and more.

A Canada Day best dressed dog contest will be held at 4:25 p.m.

Also, Re/Max hot air balloon rides will be offered at Clergue Park beginning at 9 a.m. and running throughout the day.

Wear your red and white, and come celebrate our country and the Sault Ste. Marie community on Canada Day!
