Lookin' good: Inspection day for local Navy League Cadet Corps

Annual event took place on Saturday at the Sault Ste. Marie Armoury

Hundreds of people gathered at the Sault Ste. Marie Armoury on Saturday to celebrate the Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC) Newman's annual inspection. 

Awards received included top bandsman, most improved 1st year cadet, most outstanding cadet of the year and more.

The NLCC Newman had their annual inspection on Saturday.

Hundreds of people gathered at Sault Ste Marie armoury to celebrate their success.

The reviewing officer was LCol Nadon of the 49th (Sault Ste Marie) Field Regiment RCA.

Many awards were handed out such as top bandsman, most improved 1st year cadet, most outstanding cadet of the year and much more.

We also had a band, semaphore and drill display to entertain the crowd.

During the annual, we also had a change of command. Lieutenant (Navy League) Michelle Boudreau handed the corps to Sub-Lieutenant (Navy League) Mathieu Boudreau.

The Navy league program welcomes youth aged 9 to 12 to participate in fun naval themed activities. The program is free of charge and has lots of activities to offer such as band, drill, naval knowledge, friends for life, leadership oppurtuties, outdoor activites and much more.
